What you will learn
  1. Supabase gives you Postgres, auth, storage and APIs in one project.
  2. Row Level Security policies decide which rows each user can read or write.
  3. The service role key bypasses RLS and must stay on the server.

A backend you can query from the browser

Supabase exposes your Postgres database through an API, so a frontend can read and write data directly. That is only safe because Postgres itself checks every request against Row Level Security policies.

Get the policies right and the browser can talk to the database without a custom API layer for simple features.
