What you will learn
  1. With Cache Components, pages ship a static shell and stream dynamic parts inside Suspense.
  2. 'use cache' with cacheLife and cacheTag caches any async function or component.
  3. updateTag and revalidateTag expire cached data right after a write.

The old confusion

Earlier App Router versions cached aggressively by default, and many teams spent weeks discovering why a page showed stale data. Next.js 16 flips the model: nothing is cached unless you say so, and you say so explicitly.

With cacheComponents enabled, each route prerenders a static shell. Anything that reads request data (cookies, headers, search params) or uncached I/O must sit inside a Suspense boundary and streams in at request time.
