What you will learn
  1. Actions handle pending state, errors and form resets for async transitions.
  2. useOptimistic shows the expected result instantly and rolls back on failure.
  3. The React Compiler memoises components automatically.

The form code nobody enjoyed

A typical React form used to need four pieces of state: the input values, a loading flag, an error message and a success flag, plus effects to reset them. Every team wrote the same code slightly differently.

React 19 makes async work a first-class concept called an Action. Pass an async function to a form's action prop or to useActionState, and React tracks pending state and results for you.
