What you will learn
  1. Server state is a cache of data you do not own; treat it that way.
  2. Query keys identify cache entries; invalidation refetches them.
  3. staleTime and gcTime control freshness and memory.

The bug class it removes

Fetching in useEffect looks simple until you need caching, deduplication, retries, background refresh, pagination and race-condition handling. Most apps implement half of that badly.

TanStack Query treats data from the server as a cache keyed by query keys. Components ask for data; the library decides whether to serve the cache, refetch or wait.
